CE Tested
Getting CE tested can be a long and laborious process. It seems a long way to go to get two simple letters stamped on a product. Look at it this way--those letters would mean very little if the CE testing process was overly simplistic. So while you are going through the lengthy CE testing process, be aware that it is a necessary step to ensure that only quality products are imported into the EU. The CE mark does not give a manufacturer free reign with a product--just because a product has passed a number of tests it does not mean that the manufacturer will not be held accountable if something goes wrong. Depending on the type of product, there will be a list of directives that a product must follow. If a manufacturer does not hold to these directives, it will be held responsible for the consequences. So the CE mark can be seen as a form of insurance, as well as a stamp of quality. It ensures that the product will be compliant with any rules and regulations in the future, as well as the fact that it has already passed a number of tests. There should be no misconception that once a product passes CE inspection, a manufacturer will not be held accountable should someone be injured by a product. Getting Tested and Listed |
